Frequently asked questions

Is this background remover really free?

Yes. The background remover and image upscaler are free to use right in your browser, with no sign-up required.

What image formats and sizes can I upload?

JPG, PNG and WEBP images up to 16 MB. The result is always a transparent PNG.

Does it work for movie-title logos?

Yes. Crop to the title, remove the background, then recolour and add an outline so it reads cleanly on a thumbnail.

Can I upscale the image?

Yes — choose 2×, 3× or 4× to enlarge and sharpen low-resolution images into a crisp, high-resolution PNG.

Do you store the images I upload?

No. Images are processed on the fly to produce your PNG and are not saved on our servers.
